Faced with converting existing content and applications into a new format, Purple Monkey Studios worked collaboratively with Discovery Education to create Discovery Health Connection (www.discoveryhealthconnection.com). The site is a convenient source of online materials for elementary and high school teachers. The content covers a range of physical and mental health issues.

“Purple Monkey provided us excellent insight based on their extensive experience, and developed an effective integration plan for Discovery’s IT group. Working successfully with IT, Purple Monkey helped us build the site’s critical components and integrate them with some of Discovery’s other systems. A few short, intense, weeks later we had a working site and customers using the site,” said Tim Roden, Product Development Manager at Discovery Education, one of the Discover Channel’s family of businesses.

An example of the easy-to-use format Purple Monkey Studios created for Discovery Education is the site’s monthly theme, like “Bully Proofing Your School.” With a simple click, users are instantly linked to a Discovery Health Connection kit, “Get Real About Violence.” Other Discovery Health Connection kits address obesity, substance abuse, tobacco, peer support, and AIDS.

Discovery Health Connection is a subscription-based service. For an annual fee, schools can access an unlimited number of accounts, streaming video content, downloadable documents, and customer support and assistance.
